Saint Caesarius of Arles (French: Césaire d'Arles) was an important church father of the West, who is not as widely venerated in the East today. He presided over the Second Synod of Orange, which condemned both semi-Pelagianism and double predestination. St. Caesarius was a proponent of both Ss. Augustine of Hippo and John Cassian. His vestments—believed to be the oldest in the West—remain in Arles to this day.
