Sabellianism

Sabellianism—also known as modalism—is an ancient Trinitarian heresy. Modern Sabellians of the Protestant tradition may refer to themselves as Unitarians.

It denies any real distinction between the three Persons of the Holy Trinity. To the Sabellian, the Godhead may appear to man under three different names—alternately wearing different masks, as it were.
