Orthodoxy or Death
The phrase Orthodoxy or Death is a motto of True Orthodoxy. The Greek original, Ὀρθοδοξία ἢ θάνατος, has been on the flag over the holy monastery of Esphigmenou[1] since 1972 in protest against the false patriarch Athenagoras praying with the pope of Rome in violation of the Holy Canons. Some flags portray the Greek along with the Russian (Правосла́вие или смерть), as in the emblem of this wiki.
That it is outlawed by the anti-Orthodox government of the post-Soviet Russian Federation, is unfortunate but revealing.
